Now Introducing The Absolute Power Cord MkII - Improved over the Original

The Absolute Power Cord was the first product manufactured by GTT Audio & Video.  While auditioning much of our super high-end gear we noticed a sameness to the sound, we call it coloration.   Power cords were found to be the source of this coloration.  So the search began for the “Absolute Power Cord.”   Whether it is well-known manufacturers or home brewed power cords we came to some conclusions after auditioning many different types from both sources.

We found that for the best sound the conductor had to be oxygen free stranded copper with the correct proportion of strands per gauge.  We also tested all the top brand plugs but again all seemed to have coloration to them.  Then we started soldering the conductor to the connector instead on screwing it down.  Now we were getting somewhere.  There was less microscopic electrical arcing going on.  Then we tried different dielectrics and shielding to make the cord look COOL.  We discovered that the more we put around the conductors - the more coloration we got and the more it seemed to choke the sound.  Knowing what we wanted in a power cord we needed to know where to get them.  After all, our expertise is selling High-End Audio - not manufacturing power cords.  Sure we could have been happy with our home brews, but how would that look to our clients?  What we demonstrate is what you can have at home.

After contacting some US based wire manufactures and realizing the enormous cost involved we decided to go to the Far East and take advantage of the low labor cost.  We contracted Cheng Chang in Taiwan to manufacture the “Absolute Power Cord.”  Cheng Chang is one of the largest OEM specialty power cord manufactures in the world with the capability to pump out over 6 million cables per month.  We knew that we were in the right place.  So the Absolute Power Cord is a Hospital Grade 14 gauge stranded copper cable with soldered and molded Hospital Grade IEC and Plug.  Most of the well-known power cords in High-End Audio are not UL Approved.  Try explaining that to the insurance company when your house burns down.  The Absolute Power cord is UL Approved[2].

These cords do not sound the same as a 14-gauge hospital grade Belden, in fact quite a bit different.  You can not buy these cords out of a catalog etc…The plug, wire and iec were put together to meet our specs specifically for sonics but don’t just take our word (ears) for it.

Here’s what some of our customers have to say…..

Thanks again for your time last week. It was great meeting you.  The new Absolute Power Cords are now in my system and my two 1-year old, $250   HRS-I power cords are now moved down to my two BEL amps. Right out of the box, I liked what I heard: Slightly bigger image, somewhat clearer image, and more detail and information in the middle. It's sounding real good in my highly eclectic system with audiophile software. Art

Just had to let you know how excited I am about the addition of the Absolute Power Cords to the systems in my home.  All of the music has improved at every listening level.  Whether it be low romantic levels in the bedroom, medium jazz levels in my den, or live classical crescendo levels in my great room, I am absolutely amazed at the difference these extremely affordable power cords make!!!   My only regret is all the money I have spent on the high-priced, cosmetically over-built cords that I now need to rid myself of...  But it is better to be aware and beware of these over-priced products than to never have found these Absolute Power Cords.  So thank you Bill, for bringing us a product that makes a huge performance impact while delivering VALUE in a big way!!!  Keith A. I received the Absolute Power Cords today. They are truly exceptional!! I knew power cords made a difference, but these things are amazing. They let the true performance of my Madrigal and Magnepan gear shine through. I've tried different cords in the past and got better bass, but nothing else to really speak of. Everything is better with these...soundstage, image, bass, dynamics, low level detail. You name it, it has gotten better. The most noticeable change that I've noticed so far is how it smoothed the sound out even further than before. The upper mids and highs are smoother and more natural. I expect things will actually continue to improve a bit as they get broken it.

Anyway, sorry to write a novel but I finally found a power cable worth the money. This cable is worth the $200-400 I spent on the OTHER cables in the past (all of which were returned). I figured for the price I'd give them a try. I'm glad I did. An amazing value. Take care and thanks a million. I left you positive feedback.  -Jason Williams

Voodoo cable community's worst nightmare.    I read Bill's challenge in Audiogon and after seeing his website and the fine brands he carries (I own JMlab speakers). I concluded that either he was a fool or a real well founded marketing strategist.  I ordered a cord within a few days and just got it for a power amp I have back home.  Bill told me to use it in my CD player (Cambridge D300SE) in the meantime...that I would be surprised.  After receiving the cord and observing its construction I phoned Bill again.  He told me the science behind its construction.  The manufacture(Chinese)accounts for its cost.  The feedback? HOLY SHIT!!!  Bill has kicked the anthill...the Voodoo cable community is in deep shit.  No more chanting, no more pseudomathematical explanations, no more silver...see you next life!
